  • [PM to conordmcmahon]: "All of the scripts have The Big Tree written at the start. It's not an episode title, it's a project title for this season - think 'Blue Harvest' for Star Wars back in the day."

North of the Wall

The Night King and his army of undead are marching towards the Wall.

  • [Cold opening for season 7]: "The Night's King and his army trudging towards the Wall."

  • "a scene where we see the undead army marching."

The Wall / Castle Black

Bran and Meera reach the Wall and are granted passage through it by Dolorous Edd.

  • "Bran crosses the wall in the first episode, but him and Meera won't reach Winterfell until ep 3."

  • [Bran]: "he'll come through the wall in practically the first scene of Season 7, and he'll be back at Winterfell by the 4th episode.

  • [PM to andretosatti, not quoted literally]: Edd Just appears in the opening scenes of the first episode granting access to Bran and Meera through the wall.

  • [4chan leaker]: "the scene opens on bran coming to from a vision, i think before this there might be a scene of the white walker army but i dont know that for sure, meera is pulling him on a new sled which i guess she somehow built but dont expect the show to ever explain that. theyre right outside of castle black and the gates open and Edd and some other nights watch dudes come out. meera introduces herself first and they dont care which is stupid because the reeds are a noble family as well but whatever d&d are hacks. then she introduces bran and he tells them he knows about the Fist of the First Men. then they bring them inside and thats pretty much it. bran seemed kind of fucked up in this scene and i think theyre trying to imply he already knows the wall is going to fall because he keeps staring at it".

Winterfell

Jon, Sansa, Lyanna and the Northern lords discuss the White Walker threat, and how to deal with those who betrayed the Starks.

  • [Article by the Toronto Sun, 02.06.2017:] "One of the sets on the huge soundstage at Banbridge is Winterfell’s banquet hall, where we watched Jon Snow, Sansa Stark, Brienne of Tarth, Ser Davos, Tormund Giantsbane and Lady Lyanna Mormont discuss the imminent threat of the White Walkers, a scene that will appear in Season 7’s first episode. “Dragonglass kills White Walkers, and it’s now more valuable than gold,” Jon Snow tells the assembled northerners, insisting they need to start mining the rare obsidian to craft more weapons."

  • [The new red-haired actress] "is 100% going to be Alys Karstark."

  • "Jon and Sansa wil have a few scenes together discussing how the North should be ruled at the start of the season. They disagree - Sansa is definitely the harder of the two."

  • "But Jon and Sansa have very different ideas about how the children of the traitors should be treated, and shes the one who is for harsh treatment, whereas Jon doesn't believe anyone should suffer for the sins of their father. It's pointed out that this isn't the Northern way, and he says he doesn't care, it's his way."

  • [Alys Karstark:] "She's pretty much just in the one scene, and there's no talk of marrying her to anyone."

  • [PM to whitewalker2]: "She and the youngest Umber are brought before Jon in the first episode. Sansa and a lot of the Northern lords expect him to take away their family lands and give them to the likes of Lyanna Mormont, but he refuses as he won't hold them responsible for the actions of their fathers. Instead he asks them for their loyalty, which they pledge."

Winterfell

Tormund and Brienne have a conversation about a bear, while Littlefinger and Sansa are watching.

  • "There's a couple [of scenes] where LF and Sansa are alone in the courtyard."

  • "[My first] guess for the Sansa/LF scene might be wrong - I now think it's them watching Brienne in conversation with Tormund (the other picture that was released).
That happens in Episode 1, and Sansa isn't in a good mood at this point after having an argument with Jon over who the more pressing enemy is - he thinks the Night King obviously, but she wants him to not forget about Cersei. Sansa thinks Jon is being too dismissive of her."

  • "Pretty sure I mentioned that Brienne and Tormund have an interaction - this is him telling her about Sheila, his bear 'friend' and wondering if she's still out there, somewhere. It takes a second or two for Brienne to realise exactly what he's telling her. A high comedy moment."

  • [Tormund's bear story]: "We won't hear it all though, we'll sort of arrive mid-conversation just as Brienne is beginning to realise who Sheila is."

The North

The Hound and the Brotherhood without Banners riding North towards the Wall. Jeremy Podeswa claimed to have been present.

  • "I would be 95% sure this is the first we see of the BWOB in Episode 1. They are riding north, and this is just before they find the farmer's cottage where The Hound and Arya stayed.
They will find the farmer and his daughter dead, and the Hound will dig a grave for them, which surprises his companions."

  • "They BWOB don't go to Winterfell. They head straight for the wall."

Oldtown

Sam is working and researching at the Citadel in Oldtown, while Gilly improves her reading skills.

  • [Gilly] "lives in Sam's quarters in the Citadel looking after Little Sam and staying out of the Maesters' way."

  • [About the promotion still]: "This shot is from episode 1 of the next season - and it's NOT the scene where she reads the old Maester's journal and reads about 'Ragger'
She does actually take a book off Little Sam called 'Legends of the Long Night' and THAT is the book she has there.
While she reads that Sam is reading about Dragonstone, and he realises that it is full of Dragonglass, and remembers that Stannis told him as much before, but he'd paid it no mind.
The only 2 things she reads out loud from her book are that 'the cold reached all the way to the Rhoyne River' (and she asks where that is) and then she reads the following passage out loud:
"The white cold rose up, and the Walkers rose with it. And the sun hid its face for a lifetime, ashamed at something none could discover'.
Then she says that she knows why the sun hid its face, and tells Sam that when Craster took one of his sons away, he was drunk, and said 'Come on, Time to meet your brothers'. She also tells him that the older wives called the Walkers 'Craster's Sons'.
This thought horrifies her, and she tells him that when the Walker attacked them she wondered was it one of her brothers."

The Twins

Arya kills all remaining Frey sons using Walder Frey's face.

  • "I think we're going to see exactly what a killing machine she's become."

  • "First thing she'll do in S7 is kill all of Frey's sons in one fell swoop."

  • "She heads to Winterfell, but first she'll murder all of the remaining Frey men."

  •  [PM to whitewalker2]: "She uses a 'face' to disguise herself as Walder Frey and holds a banquet for all of his family. She excuses the women and then proposes a toast. The toast is poisoned, every last Frey son dies."

Between The Twins and the Inn at the Crossroads

Arya meets a group of Lannister soldiers on the way (including a singer played by Ed Sheeran).

  • "Halfway through the first episode Arya meets some Lannister soldiers on the Kingsroad. As the soldiers enter the scene, one of them (Ed Sheeran) is singing a song for the others.

    The lyrics are as follows:

He rode through the streets of the city, Down from his hill on high, O'er the wynds and the steps and the cobbles He rode to a woman's sigh

For she was his secret treasure She was his shame and his bliss And a chain and a keep are nothing Compared to a woman's kiss.

(and the rest of the soldiers join him for the chorus)

For hands of gold are always cold but a woman's hands are warm

So they meet Arya, and we're supposed to think she will kill them, but they invite her to join them for supper, and she shares a meal with them. They talk about recent events, and how they are on their way to help fortify the Twins, and she realises that they have no love for their Lannister masters, and are just a bunch of fishermen who would rather be back at their work. So she sits and enjoys having some pleasant company for the evening."

  • "the Ed Sheehan cameo is an outdoors scene - he plays a Lannister soldier that she encounters with his compatriots on the road to Kings Landing. And yes, he's singing."

  • "The scene where he sings is outdoors. And she isn't awestruck by him either."

  • [Arya] "ain't moved by it."

Dragonstone

Last scene: Daenerys' fleet lands at Dragonstone. Daenerys and Tyrion enter the castle and occupy Stannis' old battle room.

  • "By the time the season starts Dany has already brokered power deals with Drone and Highgarden. "

  • [Daenerys]: "End of the first episode she will land in Dragonstone. She's going home first."

  • "First stop is Dragonstone for Dany."

  • "Dany is going to Dragonstone. Jon is going to meet her soon after."

  • "Dany isn't going to say anything in episode one until the very end. Her ship is going to land at Dragonstone in the final scene."

  • [PM to whitewalker2]: "At the end of Episode One, Dany and her fleet land at Dragonstone. Nobody says anything. She walks up the steps to the keep, and we follow her through the building until she reaches Stannis' old War Room. She looks out the window at the land ahead that used to belong to her family. She picks up one of the chess-like pieces on the table and looks at Tyrion, who has followed her up. She says one line: "Shall we begin?" End of Episode"
